IIT Delhi Removes B.Tech Minimum CGPA Requirement, Expands 24/7 Mental Health And Mentorship Support

IIT Delhi has removed the minimum CGPA requirement for awarding B.Tech degrees from 2024-25. The institute has also outlined measures including 24/7 mental healthcare, academic flexibility, mentorship and grievance support.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) has said it has removed the minimum CGPA requirement for awarding the B.Tech degree, with the change effective from the 2024-25 academic year.

The institute made the disclosure in a press release issued on August 27, 2026, outlining several measures already implemented to strengthen student well-being, academic flexibility, mentorship, mental healthcare and grievance redressal on campus.

According to IIT Delhi, the measures are aimed at creating an academic environment in which students feel supported and have access to assistance when facing academic or personal challenges.
