Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen mocked Pakistan’s massive Test squad overhaul ahead of the third Test against England, joking that captain Babar Azam’s toss interview could become extremely long. The PCB made sweeping changes after two defeats, releasing seven players, reshuffling coaches and adding several inexperienced players to the squad.
London [UK], September 1: Former England cricketer Kevin Pietersen trolled the Pakistan team management as they announced a massive shake-up to the squad ahead of the third Test against England at Edgbaston, jokingly remarking that the interview during the toss for skipper Babar Azam could be very long and the toss should be started a night before.
Pakistan made major changes to their Test set-up ahead of the third and final Test against England from September 9 onwards, replacing almost half of their squad and releasing head coach Sarfaraz Ahmed and bowling coach Umar Gul following heavy defeats in the first two Tests against Three Lions, according to Cricinfo. The changes come after Pakistan suffered a 194-run defeat in the second Test, allowing England to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. In the first Test, Pakistan had lost by an innings margin.

Posting on X, Pietersen jokingly said that with the amount of changes that the team management has made, it could become a lot for Babar to explain during his toss interview and suggested hilariously that maybe the toss should be started the night before the game.
