65 Bengal Cricketers Banned in Age Fraud: The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) has taken the biggest action so far against age fraud and fake documents. After official investigation, CAB has banned the registration and transfer of a total of 65 players. Due to this strict decision, all these 65 cricketers will not be able to participate in any tournament during the upcoming two domestic seasons 2026-27 and 2027-28.

There is a difference in the age of Under-19 World Cup star Ravi Kumar

Those punished also include 12 age-group cricketers who have played for Bengal, whose dates of birth were found to have a difference of several years. The most popular names among these are that of fast bowler Ravi Kumar and leg spinner Rohit Yadav, who made India win the 2022 Under-19 World Cup. Left-arm fast bowler Ravi Kumar from Aligarh played an important role in India’s title win in the Under-19 World Cup played in West Indies in 2022. He took 4 wickets for 34 runs in the final against England and took 10 wickets in 6 matches of the entire tournament.

According to the official records of CAB, a huge difference of 45 months has been found in the birth certificate of Ravi Kumar. Due to this fraud coming to light, the records of his participation in the Under-19, Under-23 and senior teams from 2021-22 to 2025-26 season have been declared invalid.

BCCI bans Rohit Yadav for 2 years

BCCI has also banned leg spinner Rohit Yadav, who was recently selected in the Indian Under-19 team for the important series against Australia, for 2 years. According to CAB, two and a quarter year’s worth of irregularities have been detected in Rohit’s documents. At the same time, the board has issued an alert to all the state boards in this regard, due to which their journey for 2024-25 and 2025-26 has been completely stopped.

Almost 10 years of fraud

The records of 12 age-group cricketers included in the list of Bengal Cricket Association are quite shocking. There is a difference of 115 months (more than 9.5 years) in the age of Arun Kumar Chaurasia. At the same time, there was a difference of more than 8 years in the age of Mahipal Yadav. Apart from this, a difference of 57 months has been found in the age of Prabhat Maurya. The names of Amrit Raj Upadhyay (48 months), Dilshad Khan (46 months), Anubhav Tyagi (36 months), Kunal Kumar (35 months), Vineet Maurya (32 months), Kushal Gupta (26 months) and Parmit Singh (12 months) are also included in this list.
