Eight engineering students from Tamil Nadu were killed in a tragic road accident in Kerala’s Thrissur district after the car they were travelling in crashed into a parked goods lorry late Friday night. The fatal collision occurred around midnight at Panambikkunnu Centre in Kaipamangalam on National Highway 66.

The accident took place at approximately 11:40 p.m. on Friday, September 4, as the students were travelling from the Guruvayur side towards Kodungallur. Their Tamil Nadu-registered car collided with the rear of a goods lorry that had been parked alongside the highway.

The collision was extremely severe and left the car badly mangled. All eight occupants died in the accident, according to reports. Initial information indicated that the victims were engineering students from Tamil Nadu, with several reports identifying their educational connection to Dindigul.
