It's been a long journey from YouTube to the small screen. From creating short-form videos in BB Ki Vines, Bhuvan Bam is going to headline Amazon Prime Video's period drama, The Revolutionaries, as the real-life freedom fighter Rash Behari Bose, who was a master of disguise. While speaking to us, Bhuvan shared that it took time for people to see him as an actor and not just a comedian. Luckily, the shows Dhindora and Taaza Khabar helped change the image that he could do more than just comedy. The actor also opened up on why he created his production company, BB Ki Vines Productions.
Bhuvan Bam on stereotypes and typecasting in the film industry
In an interview with Zoom, ahead of the release of , Bhuvan recalled, "I feel before Taaza Khabaar happened, Dhindora had dropped; it changed my life in many ways. Most of the people I know now were introduced to me by Dhindora. So it really changed my life but it also created an impact in the industry that let's approach him for something that is comedy or which is borderline... where he will be the center of a joke in a movie. I got many offers like that."
The actor and content creator continued, "I thought to do this, why should I stop doing what I'm doing? Yeh koi point hi nahi banta. That's why I feel creating a production house was so important for me. I don't care what I'm making. I've always learned one thing: Kaam unnees bees chalta rahenga, but jinn logon ke saath kaam karo woh log bees hone chahiye. Main woh bees ki talash mein ghoomta hoon."
He gets to experiment with his production house whenever his project does well or fails. He will bear the brunt of it. "I feel society will stereotype you, but it's in your hands whether you want to be stereotyped or break through from it," Bhuvan added.
Bhuvan Bam's upcoming projects

Produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, the Sharan Sharma film also features Manoj Pahwa, Geeta Agrawal, Suvinder Pal, and Sapna Sand in key roles.
Additionally, Bhuvan is bringing back for a second season on Netflix. Directed by Sneha Shetty, Dhindora Season 2 will bring back many of the show's iconic characters, including Titu Mama.
