Demand for investigation into non-delivery of Ujjwala connection goods and waterlogging

Puranpur (Pilibhit). Bharatiya Kisan Union (Apolitical) has submitted a memorandum addressed to the District Magistrate regarding various problems to Tehsildar Ashish Kumar Gupta at 1 pm on Monday. In the memorandum, Sabalapur-based Indane Gas Agency has been accused of not providing connection accessories to the consumers of Ujjwala scheme and allegedly demanding money. Union District President Manjeet Singh said that the gas connection was approved in the name of Taravati, resident of village Lah, under the Ujjwala scheme, about eight months ago.

It is alleged that even after visiting the agency several times, the goods were not delivered. On reaching again on 08 September, he was accused of demanding Rs 3800 in the name of giving the goods and being rude. The union demanded an investigation into the matter and action. In the memorandum, the problem of waterlogging on the link road from Sherpur to Dudhia Khurd via Bilhari, Kesarpur, Balawani was also raised.

Farmers say that crops are being affected due to lack of drainage. Allegations were also made that despite funds being withdrawn in the name of the culvert, it was not constructed. District President Manjeet Singh warned that if the problems are not resolved, the union will agitate at the district level. During this, Baljeet Singh, Sarvesh Kumar, Reshma Verma, Ramnaresh, Anil Kumar, Pushpendra Kumar, Gurjant Singh etc. were present.
