The messaging app will also tell them that their account has been banned for sending spam, automated or bulk messages. “When an account is banned from WhatsApp, users will not be able to initiate new chats for a certain period of time as a temporary penalty for certain violations. However, it appears that banned users will still be able to receive messages and reply to them from existing chats and groups, ensuring essential communication doesn't stop completely," the tipster pointed out in the post.

As we mentioned earlier, banning a WhatsApp account may seem like an extreme step, causing them to lose their data and chat history. Banning accounts keeps them engaged on the platform and teaches them to work on the app following all its rules. We can see this feature being tested with WhatsApp Android beta users in the next few weeks which will give us a better idea of how Restriction Mode will work.
