WhatsApp, one of the most used apps in the world, constantly improves the user experience by introducing many great features. Many of these features are specifically designed to help users save their mobile data. So what are these features of WhatsApp and how do they help save data? Today we will answer all your questions.
WhatsApp has three important features that help save mobile data. The first feature is related to calling, while the other two features are related to different aspects of data usage. Let us know in detail.
Features to save mobile data in WhatsApp Calling feature:
If you often use WhatsApp for calling instead of normal calls, then you should know about this feature. To reduce mobile data usage during WhatsApp calls, go to WhatsApp settings, go to the 'Storage and Data' section, and enable the 'Use Less Data For Calls' option.
Media upload quality feature:
If you want to reduce data consumption while using WhatsApp, the 'Media upload quality' feature is a great tool. When you send photos or videos to another user, you can choose the quality in which they are sent. In WhatsApp settings, in the 'Storage and data' section, you will find the 'Media upload quality' option. Clicking on it will show two options: Standard quality and HD quality. To save mobile data, choose the Standard quality option.
Media auto-download feature:
If photos and videos appear as downloaded automatically as soon as they are received, it means they are downloading in the background, consuming a lot of mobile data, especially if you receive many files throughout the day. To prevent this and save mobile data, go to the 'Storage and data' section in WhatsApp settings and select the 'Media auto-download' option. Here, you can choose what should and should not be downloaded on mobile data (photos, audio, videos, and documents). Additionally, you can select the 'When connected on WiFi' option to ensure the download happens only on WiFi and not on mobile data.
