Iqaluit (Canada) October 16 (ANI): Air India's flight AI127 from Delhi to Chicago made an emergency landing on Oct 15 due to a security threat posted online. The unscheduled touchdown at Iqaluit Airport in Canada was made “as a precautionary measure”. The airline stated that passengers and the aircraft were re-screened as per the laid down security protocol. Following the unscheduled docking, 211 passengers and crew exited the plane and waited at the airport. Air India notes that it, and other local airlines, have been subject to ‘a number of threats in recent days’. The airline mentioned it has received "a number of threats in recent days" alongside other local airlines. However, Air India authorities later confirmed that the threat was found to be a hoax. It said that it would take legal action against those responsible to recover damages incurred by the airline. Notably, India and Canada are going through a fresh kick to diplomatic tension over the killing of terrorist Nijjar.
