The duo are quite active on social media and often drop cute pictures. The two come from different religious backgrounds; despite that they were adamant about getting married and so they did. The couple had an interfaith marriage. Sagarika revealed that Zaheer proposed to her during the IPL. When asked whether religion was ever a topic of discussion between their families the actress said “No not really. I think like I said it was more about other people around us who were making that conversation. But I think my parents are very progressive.” In an interview Sagarika reflected on the first time Zaheer met her father.
