This time Kashi-Tamil Sangamam will be held in two phases, starting from December 2.

Ignoring the anti-Hindi and Sanskrit stance of the Tamil Nadu government Central government has decided to organize the Kasi-Tamil Sangamam this year in a more grand and elaborate manner than before. This unique confluence of culture and education will be done in two phases this time.

Its theme has been kept as ‘Let’s Learn Tamil’, so that the relationship between language and tradition can be further strengthened. This transformation of the event is being considered to give new heights to Kashi Tamil Sangamam.

The first phase will start from December 2, which will continue till December 15. During this period, a group of 1,500 youth, entrepreneurs and art-music lovers from different areas of Tamil Nadu will come to Kashi. The second phase will start from December 16 and will continue till December 30.

In which a team of 350 students from higher educational institutions across the country will go to Tamil Nadu and gain cultural and linguistic experience. This is an effort to expand the influence of the new structure (Kashi Tamil Sangamam) to a nationwide level.

The special attraction of this event is that Tamil language will also be taught to the students in both the phases. In the first phase, 50 Hindi-knowing Tamil teachers from Tamil Nadu will come to Kashi and will give simple and practical Tamil language training to children in 30 schools for 14 days.

In the second phase, 350 students from across India will learn Tamil by staying in nine educational institutions of Tamil Nadu. Vineet Joshi, Higher Education Secretary, Ministry of Education, said that this team will come in different groups, due to which the impact of (Kashi Tamil Sangamam) will become more widespread and experience-rich.

The first team will reach Kashi on December 1, which will be made aware of the ancient cities of Tamil Nadu and the historical connection of Kashi. This team will also visit Sangam in Prayagraj and Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Under this campaign, IIT Madras has also started a big campaign to teach Tamil language through ‘Vidya Shakti’ portal. More than 650 schools have joined so far, including 350 in Uttar Pradesh—where about 15,000 students are learning Tamil.

The journey to the places to Maharishi August will start from Tenkasi (Tamil Nadu) on December 2, which will reach Kashi on December 10 after passing through six states. This yatra will also give the message of strengthening the historical heritage and cultural bridge of (Kashi Tamil Sangamam).
