Diljit Dosanjh : has formally announced that he will be working with director Imtiaz Ali on a new project once again. The actor-singer made the statement in a behind-the-scenes video from his current Punjabi shoot. The video, which was posted on Instagram on Thursday, discreetly shows that the popular Amar Singh Chamkila pair is back together while also giving fans a closer peek at his everyday routine on set.
The video was posted on Instagram by Diljit Dosanjh with the comment, “4am To 9pm.” Diljit Dosanjh starts his day around 4:30 am in the video. He immediately works out in the morning after waking up, followed by a straightforward meal consisting of fruits and protein. After that, he and his crew go for their shoot. It is evident from the video that the director is guiding him in a new, unnamed project as he films sequences in front of a green screen while talking cordially with Imtiaz Ali. Viewers get a taste of the tranquil settings when Diljit is later shown coming to the lovely haveli where he is staying throughout the filming.
However, earlier on Dussehra, actress Sharvari said that she had begun filming the movie, which is helmed by Imtiaz Ali and also stars Vedang Raina and Diljit Dosanjh in key parts. According to later sources, the movie is scheduled to open in theaters on Baisakhi, April 2026. This would be Diljit Dosanjh and Imtiaz Ali’s second joint venture after their successful 2024 film Amar Singh Chamkila. Now that Diljit has released a new video, it is evident that the hype around the film was genuine.
Imtiaz Ali and Diljit Dosanjh’s Amar Singh Chamkila film
In the meanwhile, Parineeti Chopra played Amarjot, the wife of the renowned Punjabi singer Chamkila in Diljit Dosanjh and Imtiaz Ali’s highly praised Amar Singh Chamkila. Often referred to as the “Elvis of Punjab,” Chamkila was well-known for his upbeat stage persona, daring lyrics, and significant impact on Punjabi music. In Punjabi cultural history, his killing and that of Amarjot in 1988 continue to rank among the most terrible events. The movie was nominated for two International Emmy Awards: Best TV Movie/Mini-Series and Best Actor for Diljit Dosanjh. Even though it didn’t win, the worldwide recognition demonstrated the enduring influence of Chamkila’s music and the universal attraction of Punjabi storytelling.
Future Projects of Diljit Dosanjh
Diljit Dosanjh will also appear in Border 2, the much-anticipated follow-up to the 1997 masterpiece Border, in addition to his new movie opposite Imtiaz Ali. Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, and Sunny Deol play important parts in the Anurag Singh-directed movie. In this franchise, Diljit is anticipated to portray a valiant fighter pilot.
