Ranchi: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha’s Central President Hemant Soren has started Mission Assam before going abroad. JMM is preparing to contest assembly elections in Assam. Even before JMM’s entry into Assam, Hemant Soren’s old demand was passed by Assam Chief Minister Hemanta Biswa Sarma from the cabinet, in which the interest of the tribals of Jharkhand working in the tea gardens of Assam was talked about, there was a demand to give them tribal status in Assam. Hemant Soren had also raised this issue strongly during the Jharkhand Assembly elections, but the Chief Minister of Assam, who was the election co-incharge of Jharkhand BJP at that time, accepted Hemant Soren’s demand.

But Hemant Soren is very concerned about the current condition of the tribals in Assam, hence he has resolved to uplift the tribals of Assam. In order to fulfill this intention of Chief Minister and Party President Hemant Soren, the Central Committee of JMM has constituted a four-member committee to study the cultural, social and economic condition of the tribal community in the state of Assam. This committee will directly assess the current conditions of the tribal society in Assam and conduct a detailed study on the aspects to protecting their interests.

This committee formed on the instructions of the party leadership includes MP Vijay Hansda, Jharkhand Government Minister Chamra Linda, Gumla MLA Bhushan Tirkey and Rajmahal MLA Mohd. Tajuddin alias Raja has been included. The committee has been instructed to visit Assam within the next ten days and conduct a physical study of the cultural, social and economic condition of the tribal community there. After this the committee will submit its detailed written report to the central leadership of the party.
