Matt Tebbutt welcomed back Poppy O'Toole as she returned to Saturday Kitchen after having a baby. The chef, who is a regular guest on the BBC programme, gave birth to a baby girl late last year.
Introducing the programme on Saturday morning (January 24), presenter Matt wished Poppy congratulations on her new arrival.
"Now, Poppy, good to have you back," he said. "You always deliver brilliant food. Recently, you delivered a baby. Congratulations, Poppy!"
"Thank you very much," said the chef, adding, "She's watching at home. In the hotel room."
Matt joked, "Staring at lights. That age, isn't it? Looking at lights!"
Celebrity chef and TikTok star Poppy, author of a cooking guide called The Potato Book, announced in December that she and her husband, Tom Shattock, had welcomed their baby.
"The baby potato arrived last week, and she is doing amazingly," she told fans on Instagram, as she shared a string of snaps showing her cuddling her new arrival in front of a Christmas tree. "Thanks for all the love and messages."
As Poppy is known as the 'Potato Queen', many fans have quipped that she should name her daughter after a potato or a potato-based dish, with names like Dauphinoise and Duchesse being mentioned. However, the star has not revealed the name she and Tom have picked.
She was inundated with support from fans after sharing her baby news before Christmas, with one posting on Instagram: "Congratulations guys she might be the best potato you've ever cooked."
Someone else said it was "fantastic" as another fan said it was "amazing news". " So happy for you on the birthday of your spudlet!!!" said somebody else, as others called the baby "adorable".
Felloe celeb chef Gordon Ramsay was among those to comment, posting: "Congratulations to you both sending lots of love from all the Ramsays."
