In the era of digital learning, education is no longer confined to textbooks. Laptops and internet access have become essential tools for students preparing for higher education and competitive examinations. Taking a major step toward digital empowerment, the Delhi government has approved the Chief Minister’s Digital Education Scheme for meritorious students.

Launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, the scheme aims to provide modern educational resources to talented students and strengthen digital education infrastructure in the capital.

What is the Chief Minister Digital Education Scheme?

Under this ambitious initiative, the Delhi government will distribute free high-end laptops to 1,200 meritorious students every academic year. These laptops will feature i7 configuration, with a market value of over ₹60,000 each.

To support the project, the government has allocated a dedicated budget of ₹7.5 crore, reflecting its commitment to enhancing digital access and educational quality.

Who is eligible for the scheme?

Students must meet the following criteria to receive benefits under the scheme:

  • Must be a permanent resident of Delhi

  • Must have passed Class 10 from the CBSE board

  • Must be included in the top 1,200 merit list

  • Must have studied in a regular school

  • Must be currently enrolled in Class 11

Only students fulfilling all these conditions will be eligible for the free laptop.
