Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S26 series may feature satellite connectivity. This has been revealed through certification documents. The series will be launched next month.
Leaks related to Samsung's flagship Galaxy S26 lineup are continuously surfacing ahead of its launch next month. According to a recent leak, Samsung is going to provide a major connectivity upgrade in this series. It is speculated that the models in this series will come with a satellite-based communication standard. This means that for the first time, users will get features like satellite messaging, emergency calls, and SOS on a Galaxy phone.
Will support multiple standards
According to FCC certification, all models of the upcoming series will be compatible with several standards related to satellite communication. FCC documents do not provide information about the features users will get, but the technical details suggest that Samsung has decided to include satellite connectivity in the Galaxy S26 series. The certification mentions support for supplementary coverage from space and non-terrestrial networks. Both of these technologies are designed to integrate satellite networks.
This feature is already available in Apple and Google phones
Apple and Google already offer satellite connectivity features in their devices. If the upcoming Galaxy device gets this feature, Samsung will also join the list of Google and Apple. Google offered satellite calling and emergency texting options in the Pixel 9 lineup. Apple has been offering this feature since the iPhone 14 series.
When will the Galaxy S26 series be launched?
It is expected that Samsung will unveil this series in the last week of February, and sales will begin in March. According to reports, the company will keep 256GB of storage as the minimum in this series. The Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ phones will be launched in 256GB and 512GB versions. The Galaxy S26 Ultra, on the other hand, will come in 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB storage variants. All three phones are expected to be launched in Black, White, Cobalt Violet, and Sky Blue color options.
