Chat Pachawhich is the directorial debut of Adhvaith Nayar, was received well at the box office on its opening day.
In net domestic box office collection, Chat Pacha raked in Rs 1.79 crore as of 8 pm, according to Sacnilk. The domestic gross figures as well as the overseas and worldwide collection data for Day are expected to be out on Friday.
The movie’s theatrical distribution rights were acquired by Dharma Productions, which is collaborating for a Malayalam film for the first time. In Kerala, the film is distributed by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films while in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, it is distributed by PVR INOX Pictures.
The film is being distributed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh by Mythri Movie Makers. The Plot Pictures will handle the ovearseas distribution of the film.
THE WEEK has given 3.5/5 rating for the movie. The first half is said to be a warm-up act with the real action coming in the latter half. Netizens have declared it a good one-time watch in theatres.
The full title of the movies is Chatha Pacha: The Ring of Rowdies. Inspired by WWE, the movie’s title, Chat Pachaloosely translates to ‘do or die’. The lead cast include Roshan Mathew, Arjun Ashokan and Vishak Nair.
As an icing on the cake, it has a cameo from actor Mammootty. The dialogues and script are penned by Sanoop Thykoodam while cinematography is handled by Anend C. Chandran.
