Budget 2026: Outlay For Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme Raised To INR 40,000 Cr

In her Budget 2025 speech on February 1, 2026, finance minister (FM) Nirmala Sitharaman proposed to increase the outlay of the existing Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) to INR 40,000 Cr, 1.75X compared to the current INR 22,805 Cr.
She added that the move would look to “capitalise” on the growing commitments under the scheme.
The Centre has received investment proposals to the tune of INR 1.15 Lakh Cr, nearly double compared to the scheme’s original target of INR 59,350 Cr.
