Arijit Singh… just hearing the name makes your heart soften a little. The reason isn’t just his voice, it’s his attitude. Today, when everything in the industry is decided by rate cards, Arijit is an artist who is even willing to face criticism, provided that a needy child’s education continues.

Recently, this question has been asked everywhere about Arijit: how much does he charge for a song? Some say 11 rupees, while others talk about crores. What is the truth? Let’s understand it clearly and simply.

This incident is related to the recording of a film song. The makers wanted Arijit to sing, but Arijit clearly said he wouldn’t take any money for it. The problem was that at that time, he was under contract with a major music studio. If he worked without a fee, it could lead to legal complications.

After thinking for a while, what Arijit said left everyone in the room stunned. “Give me eleven rupees. I need to go to Kolkata, it will be useful for my travel expenses.” He said.

The director took out a 10-rupee note and a one-rupee coin from his pocket and gave them to him. But the story didn’t end there. Arijit told the makers that if they felt he deserved more money, they should donate that amount to the children’s school being built nearby.

This is where you understand that Arijit is not just a singer; he also has a different mindset.

Now let’s look at the other side of the truth. According to some reports from November 2024, Arijit used to charge between 18 and 20 lakh rupees for a film song. In some places, this figure has been reported to be as high as 8 to 10 lakh rupees.

But the real bulk of his earnings comes from concerts and live shows. According to music composer Monty Sharma, Arijit charges around 2 crore rupees for a stage show. Some reports also suggest that his fee for a two-hour live performance has been between 10 and 14 crore rupees.

On January 27, 2026, Arijit announced that he would no longer be doing playback singing. People assumed he was retiring from music altogether. But that’s not the case.
