New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a major decision on Friday. Keeping the tension in mind, BCCI has postponed the IPL 2025 season for an indefinite period. Earlier, IPL Chairman Arun Dhumal had said on Thursday night that in the current situation the 18th season of IPL will continue, but now the board has decided to postpone it. Earlier, the match played between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings in Dharamshala was cancelled. The match was stopped due to a fault in the floodlights and spectators and players were taken out of the field. BCCI had said that the match was canceled due to technical fault in Dharamsala.
“It doesn’t look good that cricket is going on when the country is at war,” a BCCI official said. The IPL 2025 season was in its final stages and a total of 16 matches including the final were left to be played. The final match of the IPL 2025 season was to be played in Kolkata on May 25, but due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan, it has been postponed indefinitely. Earlier, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had also decided to shift Pakistan Super League (PSL) to UAE.
