Spam calls and promotional messages are troubling almost every mobile user. Hearing a recorded voice or an offer to sell a credit card upon picking up the phone has become commonplace. But the situation could worsen in the future.

Nikita Beer, product head of the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), claimed in a post that in less than 90 days, communication channels like calls, messages, and emails could become so flooded with spam that they would be unusable.

She wrote, "Prediction: In less than 90 days, all the channels we considered spam-safe—like iMessage, phone calls, and Gmail—will be so flooded with automated spam that they will become unusable."

There will be no way to stop it.
Nikita Beer believes the problem won't be limited to the increase in spam. She says the situation could reach a point where there will be no effective way to stop it. She clearly stated that there will be no way to stop it.

What is going to happen?

It's natural to ask, "Spam already exists, so how can everything suddenly become useless?" Most platforms today also have spam filters.

Responding to this, Nikita Beer mentioned the open-source platform OpenClaw. She says this tool allows anyone to create an AI agent on their device, making setting up spam much easier than before.

She wrote, "Just wait until everyone who wants to earn $50 a day sets up OpenClaw. There were technical hurdles to this in the past."

What is OpenClaw?
OpenClaw is a personal AI assistant. With its help, anyone can create their own personal AI agent. It can perform tasks on the user's behalf, including sending emails, setting calendars, sending automatic messages on WhatsApp and Telegram, clearing inboxes, and posting on social media.

According to Nikita Beer, even a person with minimal technical knowledge can now spend around $50 (approximately Rs. 4,500) to set up a system capable of sending spam at scale. Previously, this was a complex and resource-intensive task, but now this tool has made it easier.

Spam could increase the problem.
While this is just speculation, the increasing accessibility of AI tools and automation could lead to a serious spam problem in the digital space. If this happens, it could significantly impact the usability of trusted channels like calls, messages, and email.
