Chief Minister Sukhu challenges BJP to clarify its position on revenue deficit grant, lays foundation stone of projects worth Rs 32 crore

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu fiercely attacked the opposition BJP in a public meeting held at Sarahan in Sirmaur district. Regarding Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG), he openly challenged the BJP leaders and asked them to clarify whether they are in favor of providing this grant to Himachal Pradesh or not.

The Chief Minister alleged that the Central Government is deliberately trying to weaken the economic condition of the state by abolishing RDG. He stressed that this grant is the constitutional right of the people of Himachal and not a dole. Expressing expectations from the BJP leaders, the CM said that they should meet the Prime Minister and get this right of the state back.

Big announcement for ginger growers

In the public meeting at Sarahan, Chief Minister Sukhu made a big announcement for the farmers. He said that Himachal government will now give minimum support price on ginger after milk. This step has been taken in the direction of strengthening the resolve of ‘self-reliant Himachal’. Taking aim at the previous government, the CM said that despite receiving central assistance worth thousands of crores of rupees, the funds were not managed properly, as a result of which the state is burdened with debt today.

Health and education facilities for Sarahan area

The Chief Minister made several announcements keeping in mind the demands of the local people. Announcement was made to deploy specialist doctors in Sarahan Hospital, provide facility of ultrasound machine, opening of CBSE school and double-laning of Sarahan-Chandigarh road. These schemes will bring major improvement in health and education facilities for the people of the area.

In Pachhad Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various projects costing about Rs 32 crore. These include important facilities like Assistant District Attorney’s Office at Rajgarh, Sub-Tehsil Building at Nohri and Thani-Thamani-Kharimu road.

Infrastructure will be strengthened

The foundation stone of a motorable bridge between Chabyoga to Salmu on Giri river and the residential quarter of the Public Works Department at Rajgarh was laid. These projects will strengthen the infrastructure of the area and provide better facilities to the local residents.

During the program, Industries Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan also criticized the functioning of BJP and said that BJP is keeping politics above the interests of the state. He cited the walkout from the all-party meeting as proof of this. Minister Chauhan made it clear that the state government will not compromise with the interests of the public at any cost.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister also listened to the problems of the local people and assured their quick solution, which has raised new hopes for development in the area.
