IAF Su-30 MKI Crashes in Assam, Two Pilots Killed

Two Indian Air Force (IAF) pilots lost their lives after a Su-30 MKI fighter jet crashed following a mission from Jorhat, Assam, the IAF confirmed on Friday.
The deceased have been identified as Squadron Leader Anuj and Flight Lieutenant Purvesh Duragkar, who sustained fatal injuries in the accident. In an official statement, the IAF expressed heartfelt condolences and assured full support to the bereaved families during this difficult time.
The incident occurred after the aircraft, which had taken off from Jorhat, went overdue and lost contact at 7:42 pm on Thursday. A search and rescue operation was promptly launched to locate the fighter jet.
The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation, with further details awaited from the Air Force.
