Football | March 12, 2026 6:39 AM CST

Arsenal's hectic schedule continued on Tuesday night as they drew 1-1 at Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League thanks to Kai Havertz's late penalty.

The Gunners return to Premier League action at the Emirates against Everton on Saturday evening before taking on Leverkusen at home on Tuesday night.

Leandro Trossard missed the game following his injury picked up in the win over Mansfield Town over the weekend. Fortunately, Riccardo Calafiorio returned to the squad after also being withdrawn from the action in the FA Cup win.

With all of that being said, football.london has taken a look at the latest updates on Arsenal's injured stars and when they could return.

Leandro Trossard

Trossard was taken off in the first half of the FA Cup win over Mansfield Town and was out of the squad completely in Leverkusen on Tuesday.

What Arteta has said: "Both of them [Trossard and Calafiori], they had little niggles. They were not comfortable to continue. And I knew that this could be a possibility, especially in the conditions that we're playing today. So we had to take them off."

After the game in Germany, he added: "Yeah he felt something and if you're not 100% then you cannot play."

Possible return date: Later in March

Bukayo Saka

Saka had started four of the last five games for Arsenal following his hip injury sustained in January. However, he came off after an hour for Noni Madueke.

Fortunately, there seemed to be no mention of a possible injury.

What Arteta has said: "I thought we needed something else, Noni has been a real threat."

Possible return date: Everton (H) - Saturday, March 14

Martin Odegaard

Odegaard's injury problems continue to be a concern, with his absence from Tuesday meaning he has missed four straight games.

The Gunners captain has started just two games in the last five weeks, with a knee issue plaguing him since the draw to Brentford.

What Arteta has said: "Maybe [to play against Brighton], we will see how comfortable he is in certain actions." On Tuesday night, he added: "Martin has different qualities but we have players with a lot of talent... The execution of players need to be at a different level, and in many cases today it wasn't."

Possible return date: Bayer Leverkusen (H) - Tuesday, March 24.

Mikel Merino

Merino underwent surgery on a fractured foot earlier this year and it is set to keep him sidelined until the latter stages of this season.

What Arteta has said: "Well, I think the doctors were really happy the way it went. Yeah, now it starts. Obviously, it's a long process. You're talking about bone healing, so you need to be patient.

"You respect the timings, and I'm sure Mikel is going to do everything that he possibly can to speed up the process. We're talking about months, whether it's three, four or five, we don't know."

Possible return date: May.

Riccardo Calafiori

Calafiori was also withdrawn from the action at One Call Stadium after feeling his hamstring when striking the ball up the pitch. However, he was in the squad vs Leverkusen and named on the bench.

What Arteta has said: "Both of them [Trossard and Calafiori], they had little niggles. They were not comfortable to continue. And I knew that this could be a possibility, especially in the conditions that we're playing today. So we had to take them off."

Possible return date: Returned.
