The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) examination. Candidates wishing to participate in this examination and register online may visit the official UPSC website to submit their applications. Notably, compared to the last six years, the notification issued this year covers the highest number of vacancies for recruitment. Interested and eligible candidates may apply for this examination until March 31, 2026.
Who Can Apply?
To apply for the Combined Medical Services examination, candidates must not exceed the maximum age limit of 32 years.
Candidates belonging to special categories will be granted age relaxation. SC and ST candidates will receive a relaxation of five years, while OBC candidates will receive a relaxation of three years.
To apply for these positions, candidates must hold an MBBS degree from a recognized institution in India.
Candidates who have appeared for NEET PG and AIIMS PG examinations are also eligible to apply. Additionally, candidates currently pursuing their final year of MBBS studies or undergoing an internship are also eligible to apply. This recruitment drive is also open to Foreign Medical Graduates.
Registration Fee
Women, SC, ST, and Divyang (differently-abled) candidates are exempted from paying the registration fee. Candidates belonging to the unreserved category are required to pay a registration fee of ₹200.
Departments for Recruitment
According to the notification issued by the UPSC, this recruitment will be conducted under two categories. The first category comprises Junior Scale posts within the Junior Health Services. A total of 864 vacancies will be filled under this category. The second category covers recruitment for the posts of Assistant Divisional Medical Officer, General Duty Medical Officer in the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), and Medical Officer in the Delhi Municipal Council.
