Why do we feel hungry: Hunger is the body's signal to ask for energy. But can frequent hunger be a sign of some disease?
Hunger Causes: Hunger is a natural alarm of our body. When the body needs energy and nutrients, the brain sends us a message to eat. That means hunger is not just the result of the stomach, but is the result of the brain, hormones and digestion system working together. Why do we feel hungry as soon as the stomach is empty, but actually a hard process of the body works behind this.
Why do you feel hungry?
1. When the body's energy starts decreasing: The body gets energy from the food we eat. This energy keeps on depleting as time passes. When the body feels the need for energy again, our mind gives an alarm to eat. For example, if you have breakfast at 8 in the morning, then by afternoon the body has used a large part of that energy. That's why we feel hungry again.
2. 'Ghrelin' hormone sends message of hunger: A hormone called Ghrelin is released from our stomach. When the stomach starts emptying, this hormone sends a message to the hypothalamus of the mind.

3. Why does the sound come when the stomach is empty?: Many times, when one is hungry, a gurgling sound comes from the stomach. This happens because the muscles of the stomach and intestines contract and expand to move food through. When the stomach is empty, this sound is heard more.
4. Not just body, mind can also increase appetite: Sometimes we are not hungry, but after seeing good food or smelling its aroma, we feel like eating. This is called Appetite (desire to eat). This means that the desire to eat every time does not mean that the body really needs energy. For example, even when the stomach is full, one feels like eating sweets or golgappas.
5. Sleep and stress also have an effect: If you sleep less, the hunger-inducing hormone ghrelin increases in the body and the leptin that gives the message of feeling full may decrease. This may make you feel more hungry. Even during stress, many people start eating more or less food than required.
Is it normal to feel hungry frequently?
