South Africa Women vs India Women Series Schedule: The Indian women’s cricket team will tour South Africa in December 2026. The schedule for this tour has been significantly changed. A three-match T20 series will now be played alongside the Test and ODI series. Cricket South Africa announced the new schedule on Thursday.
The T20 series has been added in preparation for next year’s inaugural ICC Women’s Champions Trophy 2027, which will be played in Sri Lanka in February 2027. The tournament will be played in the T20 format between February 14 and 28, 2027, and will feature the world’s top six teams in a total of 16 matches.
India has a chance to take revenge
The Indian women’s team toured South Africa in April this year to prepare for the 2026 T20 World Cup. India lost the five-match T20 series 1-4. Now, Team India will have a chance to avenge that defeat.
The tour will begin with a one-off Test match in Gqeberha from December 9 to 12. This will be followed by three ODIs between the two teams as part of the ICC Women’s Championship. The first ODI will be played in Paarl on December 16, the second in Cape Town on December 19, and the third in Bloemfontein on December 22.
When and where will the T20 match be held?
Following the ODI series, the two teams will play a three-match T20I series. The first match will be played in Benoni on December 26, the second match on December 29, and the third match on December 30 in Potchefstroom.
Cricket South Africa Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki welcomed the new schedule. He said that the addition of the T20 series will give his team the opportunity to better prepare for the Women’s Champions Trophy. He said that India is one of the strongest women’s cricket teams in the world and playing against them in all three formats will be a great challenge and a good experience for his team.
