Boat capsizes off Northern Cyprus : A passenger ferry sank off the coast of Northern Cyprus. There were 279 people on board the boat. According to Turkish media, so far 6 people have died in this accident. Some passengers have been injured in the accident, while others are waiting for rescue.

Turkish media reported that the ferry was headed towards Türkiye's Tasuchu port. Coast Guard boats are trying to get the passengers out safely. The privately owned boat left the port of Kyrenia in northern Cyprus at 12:30 pm local time and for some unknown reason began filling with water almost immediately.
Northern Cyprus Prime Minister Unal Ustel told Turkey's state-run TRT news channel that more than 172 people had been rescued.
