Kanpur. BSF recruitment exam was canceled at a center in Kanpur. Due to some technical problem, the computers shut down during the examination itself. After the malfunction, the angry candidates started creating ruckus outside the centre. The police administration people who reached the spot pacified the candidates. After talking to higher officials, announced the cancellation of the center exam. Now the examination will be conducted again on September 18. Heavy police force and administrative officers were deployed on the spot. In view of the demonstration of the students, ADCP East Shiva Singh, ACP Chakeri Ashutosh Kumar Singh and heavy police force from Chakeri, Cantt, Jajmau, Naubasta and Railbazar police stations were deployed on the spot.

4 centers have been created for BSF Head Constable Ministerial (BSF HCM) examination in the district. Recruitment is to be done for about 1752 posts. 500 candidates were to appear for the examination at the examination center set up at MD Infotech Center in Shyamnagar. The examination was conducted in three shifts. According to the candidates, their entry for the first shift was to be at 7.30 am. Entry was given quite late. When the exam started at around 9 o'clock, the computers shut down after about 15 minutes. The employees present repaired the computers but after 15-20 minutes the computers broke down again.
The recruitment examination for 1,752 posts of Border Security Force Head Constable Ministerial (BSF HCM) was conducted in three shifts on Wednesday. The entry of the candidates for the first shift was to be at 7:30 am, for the second shift at 11:30 am and for the third shift at 3:30 pm.
Candidates of MD Infotech Center located in Shyamnagar allege that the entry for the first shift was to be at 7:30, but the outsourcing employees started the entry at around 8:30. During this period, many candidates got wet due to rain. Admit cards of three candidates also got wet. However, he was allowed entry into the examination centre.
According to the candidates, many computer systems shut down about 10-15 minutes after the exam started. Some systems started automatically later, while some computers did not start at all. Broken computers were repaired. After this, around 9:55 pm, many systems again suddenly shut down and remained shut down for about 20 minutes. Even at 10:15 some computers shut down for about two minutes.

Candidates got angry after telling about the problem of generator
The candidates allege that when they asked the reason for the system being shut down, they were told it was a generator problem. On this, the candidates raised questions that if there was a problem of electricity then how were the fans running. After the examination did not start for about 40 minutes, the candidates were thrown out of the centre.
After this, more than 500 candidates started creating ruckus. On information, police reached the spot and took control of the situation. The candidates demanded re-conduct of the examination soon and declaration of a new date. He also demanded to provide the nearest examination center so that one does not have to travel far again.
BSF fixed new date on 18th September
According to the information released by the Centre, the examination to be held in all three shifts on Wednesday at MD Infotech Center located in Shyamnagar (Centre Code-25916) has been cancelled. Now the exam will be held on 18 September 2026. All candidates are asked to regularly check the updates on the official portal of BSF for further information. 'The system shut down 10-15 minutes after the paper started'
A candidate who came to take the exam said that he reached inside the center after about five hours. After this he was given about one and a half hour's time. The computer system shut down 10-15 minutes after the paper started.
He said that the candidates were asked to wait. Despite waiting for about two hours, the system did not get fixed. The computers of some candidates kept shutting down again and again. According to him, about 70-80 candidates were facing repeated problems in their system. Shiv Prakash said that this kind of system is causing wrong to the candidates.
Is the paper leaked or there is some other problem?
The candidate who came from Gorakhpur to take the exam told that there was a problem regarding entry in the beginning itself. There was about a minute left for the paper to start, till then some candidates had not entered. After this the system was started. He told that the system shut down after about 10-15 minutes of giving the paper in the first shift. After this the system and generator were started, but after some time the problem arose again. The paper did not start for about 20 to 40 minutes. After this the candidates started creating ruckus. He expressed apprehension that either the paper was leaked or some other irregularity had taken place.

Seeing the increasing tension, the Police Commissioner immediately contacted ADG BSF Makrand Deveshkar, after which the examination was canceled and the next date was declared as September 18. Meanwhile, ACM-2 Cantt Shikha Shukla, who reached the spot and took stock of the situation, bluntly said that such careless centers should be completely blacklisted and she will submit a detailed report in this regard to the District Magistrate. It is noteworthy that reports of similar irregularities have also come to light at centers in Rajasthan and Jaipur.
