Four more suspects, three of whom are evading justice, were charged by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday for their alleged roles in the 2022 violent murder of Karnataka BJP leader Praveen Nettaru by members of the outlawed Popular Front of India (PFI).

The NIA has accused Ateeq Ahmed, Abdul Rahaman, Abdul Nasir, and Naushad in its second supplemental charge sheet. As a result, there are now 27 chargesheeted defendants in the case, including six who are evading justice.
Of the four people charged today, three are absconders. They have been identified as Abdul Rahaman, Abdul Nasir, and Naushad,” the investigating agency stated in a statement. On July 26, 2022, Nettaru, a member of the BJP Yuva Morcha district executive committee, was fatally hacked by two attackers on motorcycles in Bellare village, Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka.
The three primary attackers were given sanctuary in the districts of Mysore and Chamarajanagar in Karnataka and Erode in Tamil Nadu by Nasir, Naushad, and Abdul Rahaman, according to the results of the NIA probe.
The agency further said that Nasir and Rahaman harbored another accused person, Thufail M. H., in Bengaluru. As part of its continuing investigation into the case, the NIA, which took over the inquiry from Karnataka police, is attempting to locate the fugitive accused, according to the statement.
