Coffee is the favorite drink of many people. It may help increase energy, focus, and reduce fatigue. But for some people, excessive consumption of coffee can also be harmful. Therefore, it should be consumed in limited quantity and keeping your health in mind.
Who should be cautious with coffee?
1. Heart patients
People who have high blood pressure or heart problems should not drink too much coffee. Caffeine can increase heart rate and blood pressure.
2. People with acidity or gas problems
Coffee can increase acid in the stomach, which can cause heartburn and indigestion.
3. Sleep problems (insomnia)
If you can’t sleep at night, avoid coffee after evening.
4. Pregnant women
Only limited consumption of caffeine is considered safe during pregnancy. Doctor’s advice is necessary.
5. People with anxiety
Coffee can increase restlessness, nervousness and hand tremors in some people.
Things to keep in mind while drinking coffee
- Do not consume more than 1–2 cups of coffee a day.
- Avoid drinking coffee on an empty stomach.
- Don’t use too much sugar or cream.
- If you are taking any medicine, ask your doctor.
Coffee can be beneficial, but not for everyone. Consume coffee only after understanding your health condition and in balanced quantity. Excessive coffee can cause harm instead of benefit.
