Tom Jones is joining forces with funk and disco icon Nile Rodgers and Chic for a massive summer concert this August. The duo of musical legends will take to the stage just across the Welsh border at Chester Racecourse on Friday, August 14. Tickets become available for general purchase on Friday, January 30 at 10am through Ticketmaster and LiveNation.co.uk..
Several presale opportunities are also available beginning Wednesday, January 28. Tom, who recently cautioned supporters about fraudulent social media accounts, will be entering his 62nd year of an extensive musical journey that has witnessed him sell over 100 million records, accumulate 36 top 40 singles, and earn multiple Grammy Awards, reports Wales Online.
At 85 years of age, Jones has earned some of the finest critical acclaim of his career for his latest Ethan Johns-produced albums "Surrounded By Time", "Long Lost Suitcase, "Spirit In The Room," and "Praise and Blame."
His passion for live shows sees the 85 year old continuing to tour, having delivered two performances in Cardiff last summer.
Tom will be sharing the stage with another enduring musical great, Nile Rodgers. As co-founder of CHIC, he has crafted some of the most celebrated dance anthems, including Le Freak and Good Times, whilst producing chart-toppers for legends such as David Bowie, Madonna, and Diana Ross.
Jones has also announced he is returning to North Yorkshire this summer as part of his 2026 Come Gather Round tour. He will perform at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday 26 July, and will be joined by British soul favourites Stone Foundation.
This will be Jones's fifth performance at Scarborough OAT, his last being a sold-out show in 2024.
Fans have been left thrilled by the news, with one posting on X: "Tom Jones at Chester Races, Friday 14th August .. will be an absolute cracker!" and another said: "I've always loved Tom Jones." A third chimed in: "Some people never lose it - look at Tom Jones I think he is 84 & still has "that voice" & great presence for his age!"
Tickets go on general sale Friday 30th January at 10am via LiveNation.co.uk.
